How to Get More Referrals
Have you ever received one of those preform letters that comes from one of those new and (never actually used) online referral programs?? Yeah – total time suck! (just sayin’ 😊 )
But, referrals – That is something worth talking about!
I remember years ago when I was still trying to figure this whole “business” thing out. At my mastermind, my friends would always say “you must be getting tons of referrals, right”? I would kinda hang my head in shame and say “No – not really…” They would all look at me astounded.
And the conversation would go like this… “Are you asking?”
I would quickly say, well – sort of, but not really. From that moment on, that conversation would forever stay with me. But it still took some time until I felt brave enough to actually ASK!
Most people actually have a FEAR of sales and part of “sales” is asking for referrals!
Some of the most common reasons people don’t ask for referrals are:
- “I don’t want to be a pain”
- “If they have a referral – they’ll just give it”
- “I don’t want people to think I’m needy”
- “I don’t want to impose”
- “What if I ask and they say no?”
I want you to be honest with yourself … are you using one of those excuses??
