So you have realized you need help… But yet you still resist?
Do you remember the Borg? One of my favorite lines was “Resistance is Futile”
Why is resistance futile? Because without support in your life, you will continue down the same path of never ending feelings of trying to “keep up”. You know what I’m talking about. That big ass hamster wheel you keep running on wondering when and where you get off?
You can keep fighting, but you’ll continue with the same results.
Trust me… I have been down that path more than once. And what I realized was that every time my business “stalls” or things get “cray cray” in my life, it is because I become the bottleneck.
I personally had become the person holding things up from completion solely because there was no time to maintain and do the never ending things that were happening and I sure as heck was not keeping up with business opportunities.
Does that sound familiar?
But it’s ok. Reluctance is normal!
Reluctance pops up in your head and it sounds something like this:
* I can do this myself. By the time I explain it I could have done it myself.
This is true… But once taught, that person will also know how to “do” the thing. And now you can delegate that task over and over.
* I shouldn’t be paying someone to do this for me.
First off that is a mindset thing… Because we were once taught to be very frugal and do everything ourselves and only “rich” people can afford to pay for help. This is a false statement and a limiting belief.
Here it is simply. If your not doing what it is that needs to be done, it’s cheaper for you to pay someone else than “not” doing something.
I had a woman once tell me how she had a trunk full of returns she needed to make. For months these things were living in the trunk of her car haphazardly bouncing around. By the time she gets those returns to their destination, the return deadline will have passed or the items may just be forgotten forever.
* nobody can do it like I can
Ok, this is true. Perhaps no one CAN do things exactly the way you do, but if taught the way you like things done, Done is better than Not done!
Most things are learnable and teachable skills.
This week I encourage you to ask yourself: “what excuse do I use and tell myself? And how is this excuse holding me back?” Be honest with yourself. No one will judge you. I know I certainly won’t.
I’ll be the first to admit. I did the exact same thing. I had to do everything. I read articles and listened to coaches tell me “you can’t do it all”. Haha… They don’t know who they’re talking about. Of course I can. I’m not like a normal person. I’m an overachiever…
Oh yeah! I held onto to that until I hit burnout… And it wasn’t pretty!
Burnout in business happens to me every time I hit a new level. A level in which I need to change my current habits and routines and change it up and allow for more support in my business.
